Friday Favorite - Micah Yancey for 81 Poppies

One of my favorite Texas-based jewelry designers, Micah Yancey Rust of BonBon by Micah Yancey, teamed up with another one of my favorite Texas-based clothing designers, Michelle Weisman of 81 Poppies, to create a super-collaboration of beautiful jewelry for the Micah Yancey for 81 Poppies collection.

Micah Yancey for 81 Poppies is a compelling collection of earrings, bracelets and necklaces featuring bold colored gemstones, gold- filled and overlay metals, and one-of-a-kind charms that fit in perfectly with the 81 Poppies Spring 2012 collection. You may have seen the Golden Glory Four Leaf Clover necklace from a past "Friday Favorites" blog post.

A couple of exciting facts about both designers... GLEE's Lea Michele and E! News' Giuliana Rancic have been spotted in 81 Poppies, and Ann Curry was seen on the TODAY Show interviewing Ellen Degeneres in her BonBons! Natalie Morales, Jennifer Hudson, Jordana Brewster and BRAVO's Courtney Kerr also own pieces of jewelry designed by Micah Yancey. Additionally, actress Amanda Setton, who plays Penelope on the CW's Gossip Girl, was wearing the Blue Royalty Necklace from the Micah Yancey for 81 Poppies collection on the May 14, 2012 season finale!

As a fan of both designers and the show, I was thrilled to see this feature and wanted to share this wonderful success with anyone who had a love for jewelry and fashion! Way to go, ladies. I could not be more excited for the both of you!

Plus... if you are in the Austin area, come out and meet Micah and Michelle at the Toast With Tidbits at The Style Masters event on Thursday, May 24 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Malverde in the 2nd Street District. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door - and the first lucky 50 guests will get an awesome swag bag! You better believe that I am going to get there early...

About 81Poppies
Launched in 2010, 81Poppies by Michelle Weisman personifies modern, feminine, cool and sexy women from around the globe. The name comes from Michelle’s birth year, 1981 and one of her favorite flowers that also happens to grow wild in Texas, where she was born and raised. The collections are a study in contrast, that juxtaposes feminine details and vintage-inspired prints with classic menswear inspired pieces. 81Poppies has been featured on programs like E! and celebrities such as Lea Michele.
